Suzanne graduated from Monash University in 2003 and first joined Blackburn Clinic as a Registrar in February 2010. She was welcomed back to the Blackburn Clinic team in May 2012. She now juggles caring for her young family while working as a GP part-time. Suzanne enjoys all aspects of general practice, and has a particular interest in women’s and children’s health.

Dr Ashdown’s fees are guided by the AMA recommended rates. Pensioners, Health Care Card holders, children and full time students under 21 will be charged a substantially discounted fee, with their out of pocket gap reduced by 50% for standard consultations.
Veterans’ Affairs card-holders are bulk-billed at all times.

Missed Appointment fee: Dr Ashdown may charge a fee if you miss your appointment, and do not cancel with at least one hours’ notice.

These are suitable for patients with eating disorders or other concerns about their dietary intake. The initial Healthy Eating appointment is 30 minutes, and subsequent appointments are 15 minutes. Weight Management appointments
30 minutes for initial appointment, and subsequent appointments are 15 minutes. Weight Management appointments have an out of pocket gap of $85.15 (or $52.55 for Concession patients) after Medicare rebates.
Family Planning appointments
Suitable for patients wanting advice about future or current pregnancy plans. 30 minutes for initial appointment, and subsequent appointments are 15 minutes. Iron Infusions
Dr Ashdown performs on-site iron infusions for eligible patients (with iron deficiency anaemia). Dr Kong, Dr Ashdown and Dr Rametta perform these appointments but all Blackburn Clinic GPs can authorise the service for their patients where medically appropriate. This model offers considerable savings compared to the traditional day-surgery model (current out of pocket cost after rebates are around $260, or $130 for Concession patients).
