Free RSV vaccine for 75+

RSV is not new… but for the first time the Victorian Government is making a small stock of vaccines available Free, for ages 75+ (or 60+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders). Respiratory syncytial virus causes infection in the lungs and airways. It is highly contagious. RSV is a common cause of hospitalisation in older adults.
Blackburn Clinic has appointments available over the weekends of 16/17 May and 23/24 May for free RSV immunisation.

Common symptoms of RSV include: fever, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, ear pain. Symptoms might range from mild to severe, and you might not get all those symptoms, but it cause severe breathing issues, such as bronchiolitis or pneumonia.
